Jeremy Hunter, MSME, PE

Jeremy earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2004 from the University of Alabama.  While a student, he participated in the University’s co-op program, working at Southern Company’s Plant Hatch nuclear facility in Baxley, Georgia.  Jeremy was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and served as Chapter President during the 2003-04 school year.  He also participated in the Formula SAE collegiate design competition, which involves the design, building, testing and racing of “Mini Indy” cars by students from around the United States.

Upon graduation, he began his employment with Doughty & Powers Engineering.  He has continued his education and received a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2009.  He became licensed by the State of Alabama as a Professional Engineer in 2008.  Jeremy has also attended numerous seminars and workshops hosted by SAE International, Engineering Dynamics Corp., EOS Systems Inc. and the Ontario Police College in Canada.  He is a member of ASME and SAE International professional societies.

While working with Doughty and Powers, he designed and developed several tools that aid in enhanced data collection, including a wireless elevated photography system and a “render farm” that enables faster rendering of high-quality animations.  Jeremy has been involved in more that 400 accident investigations and reconstructions and has testified in Alabama state court.
